“The proliferation of social media and technology has changed the way educators teach, how students learn, and the way teachers and students communicate.”
~U.S. News & World Report
Technology in the classroom enriches the learning experience for each Waldron Mercy Academy student. From SmartBoards and tablets to laptops and 3D printers, cutting-edge equipment and software make learning more interesting and fun than ever before.
Because of your past support of this event, Waldron Mercy boasts a 1:1 ratio of Chromebooks to students in grades four through eight. Nearly 150 iPads are available for our lower school students starting as young as pre-kindergarten. STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) projects have been integrated into our curriculum across multiple subject areas beginning in first grade, many of which include creating prototypes using our 3D printer. These assets are essential tools our students utilize to engage in challenging programming, engineering and robotics projects.
In addition to upgrading equipment, proceeds from this event also fund teacher training and professional development. Technology is constantly changing, and our equipment and our teachers’ skills evolve with it every step of the way.
Technological skills help prepare our students for high school and beyond. A Waldron Mercy education is more than just memorizing facts--it is about critical thinking, problem solving and working in teams to tackle the local and global challenges of the future.
On behalf of the students who will benefit from your generosity, we thank you for your support.
