Monday, October 24, 2022
In addition to our robust science curriculum, the STEM program gives students access to creative tools and challenges that will inspire them to deeper exploration in engineering, robotics and programming. Our goal is to feed their innate curiosity and set them on a path to be innovators and creators of their futures. - Michael Borton, Director of STEM

“Why should I support the Golf & Tennis Classic?”

The Golf & Tennis Classic directly benefits our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) program. STEAM projects are integrated into our curriculum across multiple subject areas beginning in 1st grade. These projects are essential opportunities for our students to engage in challenging programming, engineering and robotics activities, preparing them for a lifetime of advanced learning.

“Where will my money go?”

  • STEAM specific Professional Development for teachers, such as the Pennsylvania Education Technology Expo and Conference. Technology is constantly changing and our equipment and our teachers’ skills need to evolve every step of the way.

  • Grades 1-4: LEGO® Education STEAM programs and materials, which engage students in hands-on investigation of STEAM concepts while contributing to literacy, math, and social-emotional development.

  • Grades 5-6: LEGO® Education STEAM programs and materials, which engage students through playful learning activities to think critically and solve complex problems — including the option to explore text-based coding with the Python programming language.

  • Grade 7-8: Adafruit Circuit STEAM programs and materials, which is a perfect age-appropriate introduction to electronics and programming. Students can build coding projects and learn computer science with a fully interactive approach.
